Making transportation easier
In the second decade of 21 st century, the advances in computer vision happened through the invention of deep learning neural networks. Its impact on object recognition and 3D depth estimation by improving the accuracy made possible myriad fully autonomous systems. Majority of engineering talent and investment in silicon valley is focused in autonomous car and trucks segment. We at Savtoa thinks some of the advances made by companies in these areas can be leveraged to build autonomous systems in an equally important area “the sea”.
Ninety per cent of worlds trade go through sea. Autonomous ships with no or minimal human intervention will bring in a new era in cargo shipping with lower cost (40% reduction from crew expense), lesser accidents( 70-80% accidents in the sea are due to human error), more capacity ( due to absence of living space), better fuel efficiency and lower pollution.
Our story
We started off as a company focusing on building autonomous transportation systems in sea. COVID pandemic forced us to pivot and use our expertise in building electro-mechanical systems to do something in the healthcare field. The result is a set of rapid aerosol reduction systems. This aerosol reduction systems consist of a custom biosafety container or air handling suction system attached to a virus filtration unit.
