Negative pressure Dental Aerosol suction

We care about World Health

Dental procedures release a lot of aerosols into the air. These aerosols contain viruses, bacteria, blood, saliva etc. This contaminates the procedure room, sticks to bodies of caregivers and increases the probability of hospital infection. Negative pressure dental aerosol suction system consists of a specially designed suction hood system which draws the air at a rate of 5000 ACH(air changes per hour) into a HEPA filtration unit which removes the contaminants up to 0.3 microns at 99.97% efficiency.

Why do dental procedure rooms need Negative pressure aerosol suction system?

Dental procedures create high-velocity aerosols which can spread the virus across the room if the patient is infected with COVID. The easiest way to contain this aerosol is to capture at the source, that is by using a suction cap placed close to the face, the air is constantly sucked and filtered with a HEPA filtration system. The suction cup has a special airflow pattern which makes sure that aerosols are moved at a rate of 5000 ACH (air changes per hour) into the filtration system instead of spreading out in the procedure room.

The virus in the aerosol is captured in HEPA filter which in turn is illuminated by UV light of 250-270nm and intensity of 3000 microWatt/cm2. The virus will get inactivated by this radiation. An acrylic plate attached to the suction cup will make sure that any high-velocity emission from mouth won’t hit doctors face, but will be captured by the airflow pattern from the suction cup.
