Coronavirus spreads in the air when a patient breathes or spits or coughs or sneezes. In ICUs when positive pressure oxygenations systems like CPAP, BPAP, HFNC (high flow nasal cannula) are connected to symptomatic patients who don’t need ventilation virus spread across the room with the jet of air. Rapid aerosol reduction system could be used to build a room air purifier system to get rid of virus aerosols spread in the room air. We have built a room air purifying system with a clean air generation rate of 300m3per hr. Room air purifiers suck air from the room in real-time, pass it through a HEPA filter which can capture any particulate matter up to 0.3micron at 99.97% efficiency and UV light at the back of the filter destroys the virus through irradiation. Eventually, any place in the world with a high chance of human crowding needs a real-time air purifying system to get rid of the virus as soon as it is released into the air. Hepa filter-based air purifying system has tremendous advantages over other virus removing mechanisms like UV light (accidental exposure, the only line of sight cleaning) or disinfectant (can’t clean virus in the air).

Why are air purifying systems necessary?
Humans interact with viruses in virology labs for doing experiments. They are protected by biosafety cabinets which use laminar airflow and HEPA filtration to get rid of virus released into the air. Now with COVID pandemic, the virus is so near to us but we are with no protection. Our air purifying systems are built with the same HEPA filtration and UV technology used to destroy the virus in virology labs. Our air purifier generates 300m3per hr of clean air from room air (with ISO 6 cleanroom standard), good enough for a 225sqft room. Bigger rooms can be served with multiple systems at different locations of the room.
